The METRO B Line is a planned bus rapid transit (BRT) line that will provide faster and more reliable transit service in the Route 21 corridor along Lake Street, Marshall Avenue, and Selby Avenue. BRT is a package of transit enhancements that adds up to a faster trip and an improved experience on Metro Transit’s busiest bus routes.

What’s in the Draft Corridor Plan?

  • Planned station locations: station intersections and location of platforms within each intersection. Once approved, this plan will set the locations for stations moving forward.

  • BRT station facilities and service characteristics

  • B Line routing and stops

  • Local and limited-stop bus service within and along the B Line corridor

  • Scenarios for bus priority treatments

What are the next steps?

Metro Transit will gather feedback from the Draft Corridor Plan and incorporate it into a Recommended Corridor Plan in spring 2021. Following publication of the Recommended Corridor Plan and additional public feedback, Metro Transit will seek Metropolitan Council approval of a Final Corridor Plan in summer 2021 and project engineering will begin before construction in 2023. The B Line Draft Corridor Plan is available for comment through March 22.
