Midway Murals Adorns Snelling Ave with 4 Bright Installations

Posted on September 14, 2015 - 4:58pm

Traversing Snelling Avenue is a more vibrant, colorful and artistic experience than ever before. The Midway Murals project unveiled four stunning murals along this vital neighborhood route last month. Many thanks goes to project organizer and Hamline Midway neighbor Jonathan Oppenheimer, for his tireless work in bringing his vision for a revitalized Snelling Ave to fruition. Through months of community engagement, working with Snelling Ave. business owners, and artists, the Midway Murals project brought new life to one of the busiest routes in the Twin Cities, through the heart of the Hamline Midway neighborhood.  This project stands as both a testament to the vibrancy, diversity and life of our community, as well as an enduring reminder of the powerful impact neighbors can have on our community when we work together, and invest in our collective future. This project was made possible by the generous donations of money, time, energy and vision from countless members of this community and beyond. Special thanks also goes to the Knight Foundation, for selecting the Midway Murals project as a Knight Arts Challenge winner in 2014.
